Last night's viral moment between Blue Jays pitcher Max Scherzer and manager John Schneider really hit home for feisty Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube.

In a very pivotal Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, the Toronto Blue Jays handed the ball to veteran Max Scherzer, promptly known as "Mad Max", in an attempt to save their playoff chances.
Scherzer was cruising through the 5th inning before manager John Schneider came out of the dugout to potentially make a pitching change. However, Scherzer got into a heated conversation and forced his manager back into the dugout without making a change.
That viral moment put the entire city of Toronto into a frenzy, including Toronto Maple Leafs bench boss Craig Berube, who as a head coach himself, absolutely loved the back-and-forth.
There's a guy that's been around a long time and his personality, he's a gamer all day long. He wants the ball. He wants to get the job done. I think that's great. I love seeing that stuff.
Berube, known for his fiery behaviour, would love to deal with a player like Scherzer, who would fit into his system like a glove, with the drive to win that he has. That specific situation from last night resonated with him and the attitude that Scherzer displayed was something we all would love to see from the members of the Maple Leafs.
The Leafs could certainly use that level of passion and determination in the post-season with how they've fared in recent years.
Some have likened Mitch Marner's similar moment in Game 7 against the Florida Panthers, but it clearly didn't have the same effect as Scherzer's viral moment, largely because Marner's hair was bone dry and the fact that he himself wasn't playing like a game-changer should.
As for the Blue Jays, they are back on the mound later tonight with the series all knotted up, as they look to take a 3-2 lead back to the Rogers Centre on Sunday.
