Top Leafs Prospect Easton Cowan Taking His Game to a Whole New Level in the OHL Playoffs

The London Knights continue to roll during the OHL playoffs after a commanding sweep against the Owen Sound Attack in Round 1. They opened up their second round series against the Erie Otters this week, and unsurprisingly, Cowan and the Knights rolled through their opponent with relative ease in a 6-3 win.

Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan was the second star of the game after collecting 4 assists and a plus-3 rating. Philadelphia Flyers prospects Denver Barkey and Oliver Bonk were named as the first and third stars, respectively.

After an electric season in 2023-24 for Cowan, where he tallied 34 goals and 96 points in 54 games, he had a so-so season, given his lofty standards, with 29 goals and 69 points in 46 games. However, he came through in a big way during the first round with 9 points in the 4-game sweep.

The Knights will be looking to repeat as OHL champions after claiming the J. Ross Robertson Trophy last year in just 18 games. They made it to the finals of the Memorial Cup but were defeated by the Saginaw Spirit by a score of 4-3.

Look for Cowan to continue leading the charge in what will be his final season with the Knights. Alongside his linemate in Barkey, the duo have combined for 12 goals and 28 points in just 5 games and will be instrumental pieces as they continue to take the ice in the playoffs.
