The Toronto Maple Leafs turned some heads this offseason when they went out and signed a couple of veterans. Of course the biggest name on the list is long time NHL vet and elite playmaker, Joe Thornton. Head coach Sheldon Keefe turned even more heads when he placed Thornton on the top line for practice beside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. After his first practice with the team, Thornton spoke to the media and getting the opportunity to play with two of the league's youngest and most exciting players. "To start with them is pretty special. I feel young again."
As for the pressure of Toronto, Thornton doesn't feel it and is just ready to play. "To have grown up in Southwestern Ont. watching Dougie Gilmour, Wendel ... it's special. "
"I got no stress man, honestly. I feel good, I feel comfortable. I tend to play with no stress."What do you think of Jumbo Joe's opening comments?
