The universe may be telling us something about the Toronto Maple Leafs as a strange coincidence has occurred for the first time since 1967, leaving many wondering if a Stanley Cup may be on the immediate horizon.

Over the years, the Toronto Maple Leafs have become the punchline in many jokes, due in large to the fact that they're riding the longest Stanley Cup drought in the league.
The last Stanley Cup that the Leafs had captured was, of course, back in 1967, as fans from rival fan bases like to remind many of us. Now, a strange coincidence has some wondering if their Stanley Cup drought may be coming to an end.

A Unique Coincidence Has Come to Light, Which May Have Some Big Implications for the Maple Leafs

On Saturday, following the Leafs' win over the Montreal Canadiens, which helped them to secure home ice in the 1st Round of the playoffs, Sportsnet's Luke Fox revealed that both the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings have missed the playoffs for the first time since -- you guessed it -- 1967.
The Leafs have a lot going for them this season. They appear poised to win the Atlantic Division for the first time in franchise history.
They also have two goaltenders boasting 20+ wins apiece for the first time in history. Meanwhile, former captain John Tavares appears to have turned back the clock and is enjoying one of the best seasons of his entire NHL career at the age of 34.
The Leafs' blueline is the deepest that it's been in the Core 4 era after the team signed defensemen Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson this summer, and dealt prospect Fraser Minten and a 1st round pick in exchange for ex-Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo.
William Nylander has produced a career-high in goals with 44 this season, and Mitch Marner is on the cusp of his first career 100-point season. Matthew Knies has also broken out in his sophomore year, emerging as a legitimate NHL star.
Are the Leafs about to do something they haven't done in nearly six decades? It's unclear at this point, but it certainly is fun to think about.
