Sheldon Keefe provides an update on Auston Matthews ahead of Game 7

On Friday afternoon, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe addressed Auston Matthews' status for Game 7 in Boston after he skated again this afternoon.
Without Matthews, the Leafs have won the last two games and forced Game 7, which is set to take place tomorrow night. The Leafs have played much better defensively as a team without their Rocket Richard winner, but there's no question that they want him back as quickly as possible.
Matthews dominated Game 2, scoring the game-winner and adding two assists, but has missed the last four games due to 'illness', according to the Leafs. Yesterday, TSN's Chris Johnston revealed that
it may be more than just an illness keeping Matthews out of the lineup and away from the team.
Today, Keefe was asked about the possibility of Matthews playing in Game 7, sharing the following update:
"There's been progress. He skated again here today but no determination [yet] on his availability [for Game 7]."
The good news is that Keefe did not officially rule him out for tomorrow's game. The bad news is that the same thing happened yesterday and before Games 3, 4 and 5.
As much as everyone wants him to return to the lineup, is it really a good idea to throw Matthews into the fire in a must-win Game 7? We will officially know more about his status tomorrow following the game day skate.
