On Wednesday morning, the Leafs placed the 36-year-old on injured reserve, retroactive to January 18th, meaning that he will miss the next two games at least.
THE LEAFS HAVE RECALLED YET ANOTHER ROOKIE
In a corresponding move, with the available roster spot having opened up, the Leafs recalled undrafted college free agent signing and Nova Scotia native Jacob Quillan from the Toronto Marlies.
Due to injuries to Pacioretty and Dewar, the Leafs did not have any extra forwards at practice yesterday with
Ryan Reaves drawing in on the fourth line. The recall of Quillan gives them an option to change their lineup and possibly let Quillan make his NHL debut.
The previous season, Quillan propelled Quinnipiac to the NCAA Championship and was named the Frozen Four's Most Outstanding Player.
In 35 games with the Marlies this season, the 22-year-old forward has 6 goals and 15 points while being the team's go-to defensive forward.
