Reporter Makes Outlandish Request From Player Safety to Suspend Leafs Goalie Anthony Stolarz

In Game 1 of the Battle of Ontario, Senators forward Ridly Greig "accidentally on purpose" crashed into Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz late in the third period.

Following the game, former Leafs goaltender Ed Belfour pleaded with the Leafs to exact some sort of revenge, noting that if that happened when he was playing, Greig would have eaten a shot or two from his blocker to make him think twice about doing it again.

It appeared that Stolarz heard Belfour's interview, as he got his revenge on the Senators forward in the second period of Game 2, delivering a series of shots to Greig with his glove, blocker and stick before ultimately laying him out with a hit.

After the video of their battle in front of the Leafs' net made the rounds on social media, The Athletic's Mark Lazerus posted on 'X' that Stolarz should have been suspended for his actions, in particular the slash to the leg of Greig, calling it 'bulls***'.

Considering the abuse that Leafs goaltenders and players have taken in the post-season without repercussions, it has amazed Leafs Nation at how much the Leafs are criticized for finally standing up for themselves after years of them being called soft.

With Game 3 in Ottawa on Thursday, however, you can be sure the individual battles are far from over with the intensity of the Senators expected to be ramped up playing their first home playoff game since 2017.
