Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube cheekily reminds Marc Savard to keep his composure after his recent celebrations caught wind on social media.

By now assistant coach Marc Savard's excitable reaction after the Toronto Maple Leafs jumped to an early 2-0 lead in Game 1 has made it's rounds through social media. The fiery assistant coach was then given a stern look from his bench boss to keep his cool, considering the game had only begun.
Fast forward to the next game and Savard had clearly taken Berube's advice as he was seen to be a lot more composed during regulation. That was until Max Domi sent Scotiabank Arena into a frenzy with his overtime winner - including both coaches.
With many wondering what he had said to Savard, Berube was asked about the situation ahead of Game 3 and the veteran bench boss cheekily responded that he just hopes his coaches keep the same composure that he asks from his players.
"We ask the players to be composed. We talk about it all the time. So, that goes for us too. Sometimes it's difficult."
Hard to fault Savard for his excitement after the Maple Leafs took Game 1 handedly to set the tone for the rest of the series. After their 6-2 win, the Leafs then scratched their way to an overtime victory in Game 2 and have put all the pressure on Ottawa ahead of a pivotal Game 3 tonight.
There's a different feel with the 2024-25 Maple Leafs and it starts with the men behind the bench. There wasn't this type of emotion or excitement from the previous regime that was led by Sheldon Keefe and as long as the coaches and players can keep their cool for the most part, it's going to be an enjoyable spring.
That continues tonight as the Maple Leafs will look to spoil the party for Ottawa as they host their first post-season game since the Eastern Conference Finals in 2017.
