Official Date and Start Time Announced for Game 6 Between Maple Leafs and Senators

With another opportunity to close out the series in their first round matchup against the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Maple Leafs came out with one of their worst performances in recent memory.

They outshot the Senators by a margin of 29-19 but were outscored 4-0 in the category that mattered the most. Dylan Cozens' shorthanded tally with 11:36 remaining in regulation turned out to be the pivotal play of the game as they added 2 more into an empty net to force a Game 6.

The Leafs will get another chance at advancing towards the second round with a matchup against either Florida or Tampa Bay on Thursday night when the scene shifts back to the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.

The official start time will be at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday night, as reported by David Alter from The Hockey News.

After a commanding victory to start out the series, the Maple Leafs have only managed to score 9 goals and have had to go through overtime three times.

Their vaunted power play, which had gone 3-for-6 in Game 1, has only managed to find the back of the net twice in their last 10 opportunities, which includes an 0-for-7 rut in their last 2 games and a goose egg during a 4-minute power play in overtime in Game 4.

As for the Core 4, their legacies are once again going to be tested as they've now fallen to 1-13 in elimination games since 2018 and with another no-show in Game 5, the pressure is at it's highest for players like Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander.

With a commanding 3-0 series lead, it felt like this year's Toronto Maple Leafs were going to buck the trend of their counterparts in years past. However, it seems like the difficulties that have plagued them countless times before have reared their ugly heads once again.

Head coach Craig Berube is going to hope for a much better showing in Game 6 but it's going to be a tall task in enemy territory.
