New Clip of Mitch Marner Emerges, Leaving Maple Leafs Fans Feeling Even More Unsettled

Mere weeks ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vegas Golden Knights shocked the hockey world, completing a trade to send Mitch Marner to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for only 3rd line centre Nicolas Roy.

The deal was met with mixed feelings from Leafs Nation, many of whom were glad to get something for the departing Marner, but feeling like they should have received a little bit more from Vegas for facilitating the sign-and-trade which granted the Golden Knights that all-important 8th year of control.

On Wedensday morning, the Maple Leafs' loyal fan base has mixed feelings once again -- this time due to a video leaked, showcasing Mitch Marner training up in Muskoka, Ontario, donning some Vegas Golden Knights gear for the first time.

Marner recently revealed that his plans to leave Toronto stemmed back a couple of years, when he felt the pressure of playing in such a volatile market really began to weigh on him.

The Markham, Ontario native reached the 100-point plateau for the first time in his career in 2024-25, but could not perform when it mattered most when matched up against the Florida Panthers in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

While it's certainly a bitter pill to swallow, seeing Marner in another team's colours, all we can really do now is move on and circle the dates January 15th and January 23rd of 2026 on the calender. Those dates mark the Leafs' first game against Vegas and Mitch Marner's anticipated return to Toronto.
