Nazem Kadri Hints that Rumours of a Potential Reunion with the Leafs Could Be True

Since being traded in July of 2019 after a second straight post-season suspension, Nazem Kadri's name has been constantly mentioned in the rumour mill about a potential return to Toronto following the departure of Kyle Dubas, and those rumours only intensified following the departure or Brendan Shanahan.

Kadri himself didn't rule out a return during an appearance on the 'Leafs Report' podcast back in November this past season. Now, his most recent comments seem to have him favouring the idea.

On Friday, the former first-round pick, who calls London, Ontario home during the off-season, appeared on a London Knights podcast called 'Knight Shift', where he was asked about the constant rumours of a return to Toronto.

As the Leafs continue to search for another centre to add to their depth down the middle, Kadri was linked to the Leafs once again, just before free agency opened.

The 34-year-old has five years left on his current deal that carries a $7M cap hit throughout, but is coming off of a 35-goal, 67-point campaign for the Flames.

The trade that sent him to Colorado was seen by Leafs Nation as a disaster at the time and is considered one of the most egregious mistakes made by Kyle Dubas during his time as GM of the Leafs.

Whether Kadri does find his way back to Toronto or not remains to be seen, but he would clearly welcome the idea, as many Leafs fans would as well.
