Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has shown a tremendous amount of support for new teammate Scott Laughton amid a rough stretch to begin his Leafs tenure.

It hasn't been the most ideal transition from Philadelphia to Toronto for Ontario native Scott Laughton, who has yet to produce a point for the Maple Leafs in his 8 games with the club.
So, when Max Domi spoke up on Tuesday and empathized with Laughton during his pre-game media session, it's safe to suggest that Laughton probably appreciated the gesture.
The Leafs gave up some premium assets for Laughton on trade deadline day, and so far, the returns have not been good. However, even Flyers head coach John Tortorella cautioned that it will take some time and that Laughton is still very much just trying to fit in and that standing out may take some time.
As far as Domi's comments, they seemed to follow a similar ideology. Domi told the media this week that he feels for Laughton, because he knows how it is to adjust to a new team, having moved around a lot, playing for 7 different teams during his NHL career.
"I honestly believe it's one of the hardest, if not the hardest, things to do in our sport is getting traded like that at the deadline. From top to bottom, the challenges that come with that - not even anything to do with hockey, just away from the rink.

Anything from just driving to the rink or showing up and seeing different security people, all those little details that you never think of. Breakfast. OK, how do I get to the airport from the practice rink?

It sounds kind of dumb. But when you're so driven by all these rituals and routines that we have, it throws you off a little bit. So, I think that was probably the biggest challenge, but it's also a really cool opportunity."

Laughton hopes to get the monkey off of his back on Tuesday against his former team, but he was also very close to recording his first goal as a Leaf over the weekend. Unfortunately, his tip from the slot saw his goal reversed thanks to a high-stick.
Laughton is a character guy and was very highly regarded in Philadelphia. There's a reason for that, and before long, he'll show Leafs Nation why that is.
