Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Matthew Knies was knocked out of Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins after colliding with Bruins Captain Brad Marchand. Thankfully, there were no long-term affects as Knies returned to the lineup yesterday against the Montreal Canadiens after being held out of Thursday's game as a precaution due to the head contact from the Marchand hit.
In his first full season with the Leafs, Knies has 11 goals and 26 points through 62 games, but his work in transition, off the wall and down low in front of the net and behind the goal line has been fun to watch. He has also begun to ramp up his physical play of late, which bodes well for the Leafs come playoff time.
