While it might not be the NHL squad, the Maple Leafs have revealed where and when fans can tune in to the rookie tournament that is taking place this weekend.
The regular season is less than a month away but before we can get to that point, we have a few pitstops along the way in rookie and training camps.
Rookie camps have opened up league-wide and for fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the wait is nearly over, as some of the team's best prospects will be lacing up their skates this weekend against rivals in Ottawa and Montreal.
The first game will take place on the 13th of September at 1:00 PM (EST) against the Ottawa Senators, before the Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens on the 14th at 3:00 PM (EST).
The Maple Leafs official page on X revealed that those hoping to catch some of their favourite prospects taking the ice can find streams available on game day.
While those might be the more standout names, there are a lot more prospects taking the ice this weekend that we should get to see quite a bit of in the minors this coming season, like defensemen
John Prokop and goaltenders
Artur Akhtyamov and
Vyacheslav Peksa.
Following the rookie camp, pre-season contests for the Maple Leafs are set to kick off on the 21st when they start things off against the Senators. In fact, they play 3 successive home and homes against Ottawa, Montreal, and Detroit before the regular season opens up on the 8th of October.
