Multiple Maple Leafs players have spoken up about what sort of presence Anthony Stolarz provides during games, revealing why he's such a popular teammate.

Anthony Stolarz has formed one of the better goaltending tandems in the National Hockey League with teammate Joseph Woll for the Maple Leafs, and right now, the decision is up to coach Craig Berube as to which netminder will get the nod for the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs later this month.
But, in addition to being one of Toronto's most important players, he's also been revealed as an ardent motivator.
With a sly smirk, forward Matthew Knies explained that Stolarz doesn't shy away from letting the rest of the club know what he thinks on the ice. Spoiler alert -- Stolarz can be a bit of a hardass.
"I think he's kind of ruthless back there. He gets screaming and yelling at us, but I think it just makes him play better. He's extremely motivated and wants to win really bad."
Forward Mitch Marner said that Stolarz is perhaps the most "vocal" of the goaltenders that he's called his teammates throughout his career.
"I think he's one of the most vocal goalies I've ever had, which is great. He lets you know where guys are on the ice, penalty kill, even strength wise, that's what you want from your goalie, you want him to be letting you know where guys are. Obviously, he can handle the puck very well, you're comfortable when he gets it on his stick that he can make a play. So, yeah, he's been great for us all year."

So far, in his 1st year with the Leafs, Stolarz has gone 17-8-3 with a 2.34 GAA and a . 920 SV% with a single shutout.
He and Woll have also formed the 1st 25-15 victory duo in Toronto Maple Leafs goaltending history.
