Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube may have played some mind games with the media on Tuesday, but has officially confirmed starting goalie versus Flames.
Stolarz was taking reps in today's practice session in the starter's net while
Joseph Woll was not present for the game day skate, which is usually a clear indication that he would be starting.
With both netminders taking part in their usual starting routines, Berube might have wanted to play some mind games with the Flames before making his announcement.
After about a half an hour of intrigue and mystery, Berube announced that Woll would get the nod tonight for what would be his 4th straight start and 8th over the last 9 games.
On the season, the 26-year-old sports an 18-10-0 record with a 2.66 GAA and .909 SV%. He carries a 4-4-0 record in that 8-game span with a .896 SV% and a GAA hovering just above 3.00.
The Leafs will be looking to jump on an abbreviated winning streak heading into
the 4-Nations Face-Off break and make in-roads towards the top seed in the Atlantic Division, which has slipped away in recent days.
