Maple Leafs Make Puzzling Decision in Goal For Tuesday's Rematch Against the Bruins

Ahead of Tuesday's rematch against the Bruins, the Leafs made a puzzling decision in goal after a disastrous weekend that saw them let two winnable games slip away.
'Overworked' is how Craig Berube described his decision to give
Anthony Stolarz a game off on Sunday. The 31-year-old was pulled in Saturday's loss to the Bruins in favour of
Dennis Hildeby who ultimately got the nod for Sunday's game as well.
The 24-year-old stopped 19 of 20 shots in relief on Saturday, giving the Leafs a chance to win a horrendously played game. He did the same thing on Sunday where he stopped 42 of 47 shots, but his efforts were not enough as the Leafs lost their second in a row.
Stolarz Gets An Opportunity to Rebound
At Tuesday's morning skate, it was Stolarz manning the visitor's crease, indicating that he would get an opportunity to put forth a better effort in comparison to Saturday night.
Hopefully he and the team will be able to put forth a far better effort on Tuesday.
Hildeby Deserving of Another Start
In combination of his strong relief appearance, his quality play on Sunday, and Berube's comments relating to Stolarz being overworked, Hildeby seemed like he was in line to start a second consecutive game for the Leafs. That's not the case here.
While GM Brad Treliving likes the Leafs' goaltending depth, Berube seems more hesitant to trust it. His lack of trust without
Joseph Woll is pushing Stolarz far beyond his limits without easing him into a more prominent starting position.
Should Stolarz struggle again on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see if Berube goes back to Hildeby or even Joseph Woll on Thursday against the LA Kings.
