Maple Leafs' Embarrassing Loss Leads to John Tavares Airing His Frustration Post-Game

After 20 minutes of game action on Saturday, the Leafs held a 2-0 lead over the Predators and appeared to be coasting toward an easy victoty. Unfortunately, the team reverted back to their old ways, taking their foot off the gas and giving up five straight goals over the final 40 minutes and losing to another bottom-feeder.

Head coach Craig Berube shredded his team for their poor performance over the final two periods, and in his post-game availability, Tavares did the same in a less direct way, and says the team will use the loss as fuel for this coming week's slate.

The Leafs had a golden opportunity to jump back into first in the Atlantic Division Saturday with both the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning losing earlier in the day on Saturday.

Unfortunately, after winning three straight, the Leafs showed us that they're still prone to the same mistakes, collapsing defensively and allowing the Predators to score three unanswered goals in the second before giving up another two in the third.

With a pair of days off before they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, Tavares and the Leafs will have some time to regroup and get back on track as they face another non-playoff team in their pursuit of an Atlantic Division title.
