Lorentz has committed to a 1-year deal, which will pay him the league minimum $775,000, while Pacioretty has signed a 1-year deal worth $873,770, complete with a pair of performance bonuses worth $313,115 each. The first bonus kicks in if he plays 10 games. The second bonus kicks in if he plays 35 games.
The addition of Pacioretty gives the Leafs some additional scoring punch in the middle six and another body for their potent power play. The soon-to-be 36-year-old is a former multi-time 30-goal scorer, and while he isn't in his 20's anymore, he should still be able to pot 15-20 goals if he can remain healthy.
Lorentz not only makes the Leafs' bottom six more formidable, but his addition means that the team will also have another quality penalty killer at their disposal with legitimate Stanley Cup Playoffs experience. Lorentz captured hockey's greatest prize with the Florida Panthers this past June.
