Maple Leafs Coach Craig Berube Shares Thoughts On Dominant New McMann, Domi, Robertson Line
Craig Berube has shared his honest opinion of the Leafs' new third line made up of Bobby McMann, Max Domi and Nicholas Robertson.
United in the Leafs' comeback against the Buffalo Sabres on December 15th, Domi, Robertson and McMann have been providing the Leafs with the secondary scoring they have been desperate for.
Friday against the Sabres, again, was no different as the trio each registered a goal and an assist, combining for 6 points in the Leafs 6-3 win, leading to some very positive feedback from Berube.
"For me, it is all hounding, hustle, and playing fast. All three of them can skate. When there is a breakdown, they are going the other way quickly. They did that tonight on two of the goals. On another goal, it is just hounding in the offensive zone. They are using their speed, skating, and tenacity. That is what I see out of them right now."
In three games together, McMann, Domi and Robertson have combined for 16 points and a plus-18 with Robertson, the former second-round pick, leading the way with 3 goals and 3 assists.
Robertson and Domi have scored in three straight games, with Domi snapping his 23-game goalless drought and Robertson finally finding some of the offence that he had during the pre-season.
It appears the Leafs have accidentally struck gold with this new third line, which will look to continue its dominance Saturday night when the Leafs host the New York Islanders.
