Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has made a bit of a surprising and unexpected comment about his goaltending rotation.

When the Maple Leafs signed Anthony Stolarz in free agency, the expectation was that they would split the starts between him and Joseph Woll down the middle, considering the lack of experience between the duo.
While he had previously alluded to the fact that he wants to see one goalie take over the starting role heading into the playoffs, the fiery bench boss acknowledged on Saturday that he's attempted to give each goaltender back-to-back starts, but that he's not yet ready to abandon the rotation and push one goalie into a clear starting role just yet.
"I love the rotation," Berube insisted. "I just don't feel like I want to get away from that - yet."
Stolarz was given back-to-back starts on the 13th and 15th of March against the Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators, respectively. Comparatively, Woll then received back-to-back starts when he was called upon against Calgary and Colorado on the 17th and 19th of March.
The run of consecutive starts stopped a few days ago when Stolarz was given the nod in their last game against the New York Rangers. However, that was the second leg of a back-to-back with the Leafs also playing on Wednesday.
With Woll getting the nod on Saturday against Nashville, it will be interesting to see how Berube splits the starts as we near the playoffs.
As previously mentioned, Berube will eventually choose one guy to run with for the playoffs, but at this stage, it's anyone's guess as to who gets the nod.
April is where things get a little tougher with 2 games against Florida, divisional bouts against Tampa Bay, Montreal, Buffalo, and Detroit, as well as one game each against the Carolina Hurricanes and the playoff-hopeful Columbus Blue Jackets.
Berube will have to break away from the tandem at some point, and he knows that as much as anyone else, but for the time being, he's more than okay with rolling with his rotation until further notice.
