Maple Leafs Announce Pair of Intriguing Adjustments to Lineup Ahead of Game 6

The Leafs had an off-day on Wednesday, which left Craig Berube and select players to speak to the media before travelling to Ottawa for Game 6.

During his availability, Berube hinted that we could see a different lineup for Game 6 which led many to believe Nicholas Robertson or potentially even the recently recalled Alex Steeves could draw into the lineup.

As the Leafs took to the ice for their morning skate on Thursday, Berube stuck to his word about making changes, but unfortunately for Leafs Nation, it doesn't involve swapping out players, just shuffling the lines around.

The top line, despite their poor performance in Game 5, remained intact, as did the line of Steven Lorentz, Scott Laughton and Calle Jarnkrok. The two changes Berube made were placing Pontus Holmberg between Max Domi and Bobby McMann, while elevating Max Pacioretty to the wing alongside William Nylander and John Tavares.

The changes may not be what Leafs Nation hoped for, but as we have become accustomed to, it doesn't matter who plays with the 'Core 4', if they aren't going the lines aren't going.

Berube has often kept lines together until the third period throughout the series, so how long he keeps these lines together will be something to watch for and likely depends on how well (or poorly) the first period goes.
