Maple Leafs Analyst Reveals Details of Hostile Altercation with Mitch Marner's Camp
Longtime Maple Leafs analyst and podcaster Steve Dangle revealed he was berated by Mitch Marner's camp following criticism of his play in the playoffs.
If the heat on former Toronto Maple Leafs player player Mitch Marner wasn't already high enough, the dial has been turned up once again.
Marner, now a member of the Vegas Golden Knights after a trade over the summer, said Leafs fans were responsible for his departure from Toronto while speaking with media less than a week ago. He claimed he had to hire security to guard his home for two weeks after the 2024-25 season ended.

Some new details revealed by hockey analyst and podcaster Steve Dangle show it wasn't always fans who were to blame for creating tension. He had said a while ago that something happened in 2021 after he laid into Marner following a poor post season performance.
In his latest podcast, Dangle gave details on what he called Dangle addressed "The Truth Behind Mitch Marner, His Camp & His Departure From The Maple Leafs". According to Dangle, he received some communication from Marner's camp following his criticism that was anything but cordial.
"You piece of s--t. Shut the f--k up about Marner! You know zero about the game, you little puke. You'll never get to speak to him again."
Dangle explained that he assumed the message was from a disgruntled fan until he read the name at the bottom, which he recognized right away.
"That's Marner's personal security guy. This was June 2, 2021."

He's not the first analyst to call out Marner for his recent actions. Sportsnet's Sam McKee said this week that Marner never believes anything is his fault, choosing instead to place the blame on fans.
At one point, it seemed both Marner and fans could walk away from their former relationship with no hard feelings. However, the more Marner opens his mouth, the worse he seems to make things.
