"The Boston Bruins come to Toronto looking to build off their win against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. However the Leafs are 7-3-0 during their last 10 games and looking to build on the current two point lead they have on the Bruins in the playoff race. Patrick Marleau will play in his 1600th career game tonight and will become just the 11th player in NHL history to hit the 1600 game mark once the puck drops. The veteran has registered 13 points so far this season in 24 games and has 1142 points so far in his career. "Seeing him every day how he carries himself, how he prepares, how he plays the game, it sets a great example for everyone. He's such a great guy, such a great influence. Even though he's played that long he's just one of the guys and makes everyone feel comfortable." -- Maple Leafs forward John Tavares on Marleau. Defenseman Nikita Zaitsev didn't participate in practice Monday morning but head coach Mike Babcock said he expects him to play, if he doesn't lace up Martin Marincin is expected to take his place. On the Bruins side of things the team is without some big names due to injury like Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo.
