Leafs Coach Craig Berube has set the lineup for the Toronto Maple Leafs' final game of the 2025-26 NHL pre-season against the Detroit Red Wings.

It's the last game of the 2025-26 NHL pre-season for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they get ready for a matchup with the Detroit Red Wings tonight. It's also the final pre-season game for the Red Wings, as both teams look to finalize their lineup for opening night.
The Maple Leafs will not be icing any sort of a star-studded lineup on Saturday, however, as they plan to rest their big guns ahead of the season opener to help preserve their health.
Auston Matthews is, of course, among those expected to rest on Saturday. The Leafs' captain has looked like his old self during the pre-season and is coming into the season 100% healthy, which is great news for the organization.

Maple Leafs Lineup for Final Preseason Game Against Red Wings Has Been Set

A group of players not participating in tonight's game also skated at practice today and that group foreshadowed a big opening night lineup change with Max Domi centering the Leafs' third line.
For Leafs fans who purchased tickets to tonight's game, there is likely some disappointment in not getting to see the team's top players. However, the game itself should be exciting and action-packed as several fringe players look to make their case for deserving a roster spot in light of the injury to Scott Laughton.
