Leafs GM Brad Treliving Releases Official Statement on Heartbreaking Ken Dryden News

Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving has wasted no time in releasing an official statement following the heartbreaking news of the passing of NHL legend Ken Dryden.
The Hockey world is reeling following the news that legendary Montreal Canadiens goaltender and former Leafs President Ken Dryden has passed away after a battle with cancer.
A 5-time Vezina Trophy winner with the Canadiens, Dryden won six Stanley Cups during his decorated NHL career and is rightly viewed as one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the sport. He was 78 at the time of his passing.
Early Saturday morning, Leafs GM Brad Treliving released an official statement in response to the tragic news.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ken Dryden. One of the game's giants, Ken was the backbone of the Canadiens' dynasty in the 1970s, a Hall of Fame goaltender who captured multiple Stanley Cups and set a standard of excellence at his position.
Later, Ken brought his leadership and vision to the Toronto Maple Leafs, serving as team president from 1997 to 2003 and remaining with the club until 2004. His influence on our organization, on the game of hockey, and on Canadian life was profound and enduring.
On behalf of the Maple Leafs, I extend our condolences to Ken's family, friends, and to the countless people he inspired through his remarkable life."

On top of his six Stanley Cups, Dryden also captured a Conn Smythe Trophy as Playoffs MVP in 1971 and won the Calder Trophy in 1972.
