James Van Riemsdyk Comments On Trade Rumors

"James van Riemsdyk's 25^th goal of the season was the only tally in a 1-0 win over the Florida Panthers Tuesday night. This was the fourth time in his career where van Riemsdyk has scored at least 25 goals and he could eclipse his career-high of 30 set back in 2013-14.
As good as JVR has been this season, he still could be traded before next Monday's trade deadline so they don't risk losing him for nothing to free agency this summer. Head coach Mike Babcock even said that he discussed this scenario with general manager Lou Lamoriello.
Van Riemsdyk commented on the trade rumors and the distractions that come along with them as he tries to hit the 30-goal mark.
«The older you get and the more experience you have you just realize — you almost become a little more numb to it,» van Riemsdyk said, per Jonas Siegel of The Athletic. «You see lots of people who have gotten traded over the years and there's no reason necessarily to think you're special enough not to be that guy that doesn't. It happens. It's all in the course of what we do. It's another one of those things — out of your control — so as much as you may have those moments of humanity where you do worry about it and wonder about it it's one of those things where you try to just quickly get that off your mind because you have zero control over it.»
