A Maple Leafs reporter is suggesting that the pressure to win is rising within the organization with the team underperforming, and there could be big ramifications.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off of another disappointing loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, where they fell 3-2 in overtime to Ontario native Adam Fantilli.
Fantilli often finds a way to produce against Toronto, and scored the winner to cap off a 3-point night in a barn full of his family and friends.
The loss puts the Maple Leafs at 9-9-3 and keeps them outside of the playoff picture.

Changes Could Be on the Horizon if the Maple Leafs Can't Ramp Up

James Mirtle spoke on the mood and potential repercussions inside the organization as the team's struggles continue.
As per NHL Rumour Report on X:
"You got a new, reshaped ownership group coming in, and the heat is dialled up on everybody in this organization; if it's a brutal season... I think a lot of people are gone in the organization."

Expectations Not Being Met for Maple Leafs

Before the season began, the Maple Leafs were viewed as a team that has retooled successfully after the departure of star winger Mitch Marner.
The additions of depth players like Matias Maccelli, Dakota Joshua and Nicolas Roy brought hope to the fans that the team would have plenty of depth up front. But that couldn't be further from the truth, as a plethora of injuries have exposed a clear lack of depth on the team.

Treliving's Recent Comments May Be Walked Back

In a press conference earlier this week, Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving made it clear that he takes responsibility for the team's poor performance, stressing that his staff's jobs are safe. However, if the team does continue to under-perform as they have been and fails to make the playoffs, it wouldn't be surprising if his stance changes and personnel changes are made.
Heck, Treliving himself may be out of a job if the team can't turn things around and end up missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
