The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta has revealed that one former Leafs defenseman is back on the trading block as he continues to struggle to find a fit with his team.
The Maple Leafs have become frequent trade partners with Western Conference teams in recent years -- more specifically, the San Jose Sharks.
This past off-season, the Leafs sent
Ryan Reaves to California in exchange for defenseman
Henry Thrun in an attempt to clear cap space and improve their defensive depth.
Leafs Trade Former First-Round Pick to Sharks
Sharks Continue to Try to Move Timothy Liljegren
The 26-year-old right-shot defenseman is in the final year of the two-year deal he signed with the Maple Leafs just prior to being traded to San Jose. In 67 games last season with the Sharks, Liljegren tallied six goals and 17 points, but has struggled mightily to begin this season.
At this point, it does seem doubtful that the Leafs would attempt to re-acquire the former 1st round draft pick, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
