A former Maple Leafs enforcer has publicly called out Max Domi for the way he plays and wants to see more passion out of the 2nd generation Leaf.

Max Domi has been a hot topic lately among Maple Leafs fans. Some have called for him to be traded after last season, mostly due to his frustrating playoff performance and untimely penalties.
His penalties issues against the Florida Panthers came at the worst possible moments, and some of them directly led to goals against. It's no surprise that his name has popped up in trade talks.
At the same time, Domi showed flashes of being one of the only Leafs players willing to spark some energy when the team came out flat. In those tough playoff games, he was often the guy who would throw a hit out of pure frustration just to get things going. For a team that lacked agitators during the Kyle Dubas era, that kind of intensity was refreshing to see in the Brad Treliving era.
On a recent episode of Leafs Morning Take, Zack Phillips and Jay Rosehill made some comments about Domi that some may agree with. I'm not sure I agree.
The pair of podcasters want Domi to do more, to be more, and to agitate more. While I understand their desire to see him reach the 60-70 point level we've seen in the past, I don't know how much more of an agitator he can realistically be.
Against Florida, the two players who stood out most in terms of physical play and agitation were Max Domi and Scott Laughton. Both clearly tried to rattle the opposition, and in my view, Domi delivered as well as he could.
To be fair, Phillips and Rosehill also argued that Domi could take on a bigger role, and I agree with that. Given the right opportunity, he could have a great season. But when it comes to his intensity and agitation, he's already giving the Leafs exactly what they've needed: more fight and fire when it matters.
