Fan Favourite Nikita Grebenkin Shares Reaction to Being Traded by the Maple Leafs

As the Toronto Maple Leafs gear up for their playoff push, one player they traded away still holds a special place in the hearts of fans. Known for his hilarious quotes, Nikita Grebenkin shared one last gem of a quote with Leafs Nation, explaining how the trade came down and what his reaction was to being moved to Philly.

Grebenkin was part of a trade package sent to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Scott Laughton at the trade deadline.

In an interview with Mark Masters, Grebenkin shared his thoughts on his time in Toronto and his conversation with Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving when he found out he had been traded.

Grebenkin has fit right in with the Flyers' organization, scoring 3 points in 4 games for their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. While he's not primarily known for his scoring, Grebenkin has proven to be an effective player by using his physicality on the ice.

As for Laughton, his transition to the Maple Leafs has been challenging. He has yet to find his role on the team, contributing 0 points in 9 games and posting a -5 plus/minus rating.

Though Grebenkin is no longer a Maple Leaf, he had certainly left his mark, and fans are wishing him the best in this next chapter of his career.
