Former Leaf and co-host of 'Leafs Morning Take' Jay Rosehill believes the Leafs are built for success, but won't find it until they figure out how to do one thing.

On Saturday, we saw the Leafs hold a 2-0 lead over the Nashville Predators after 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the wheels fell off and they surrendered five straight goals to the 30th place Preds, watching their three-game winning streak come to an abrupt end to one of the worst teams in the league.
During their post-game podcast, live from Nashville, 'Leafs Morning Take' co-host Jay Rosehill discussed the team's loss, but explained that the club is built for success if they can figure out one critical thing.
"The depth is there, the pieces are there. You put this roster in Colorado and are you going to tell me they aren't going to be frontrunners for the Cup?" Rosehill suggested. "This team is [a contender]. We scrutinize them. They have the weight of the world on their shoulders constantly. That's just what it is in Toronto. They have built a great team on paper and if they can ever all put it together at the same time, look the f*** out. But, we're just waiting to see - like you mentioned, this guy was here today, wasn't here yesterday. This guy was going yesterday, you didn't really notice him today. If they can ever put it all together, they're built for success."
Rosehill's comments aligned with Matthews' comments from Saturday about the Leafs' inability to get a consistent effort from everyone for more than three or four games.
Many in the crowd agreed with Rosehill, as have many online. The issue unfortunately is not something new for the Leafs or new to the fans, who have consistently seen an inconsistent team during the entirety of the "Core 4" era.
With another busy week ahead, where they play another four games in six days, including 2 against teams in the bottom five of the league, the Leafs will need to quickly find consistency if they want to have any hope of keeping pace with the Florida Panthers atop the Atlantic division.
