Max Domi of the Toronto Maple Leafs has been punished for his hit on Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

Game 4 of the second round series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers ended in a 2-0 loss for the Maple Leafs, and a controversial hit from behind by Max Domi on Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov became the major talking point.
TSN Insider Pierre Lebrun had already said he didn''t expect the hit to earn Domi a suspension, despite the fact that many Panthers fans were calling for one.
As it turns out, Lebrun was right. Domi has been punished, but rather than a suspension, he's received a $5000 fine.
In the meantime, Florida's Matthew Tkachuk issued a warning to William Nylander that he was coming for him following the hit on Barkov. Nylander is the Maple Leafs' top scorer in the post season.
Game 5, which takes place Wednesday in Toronto, is bound to be a tense one as the rivalry between the Panthers and Maple Leafs is heating up. The series is tied at 2 games each.
The Leafs Matthews Knies held his teammates accountable after game 4 saying Toronto needed to stop taking bad penalties, and adding the loss was all on the Maple Leafs.
