The Panthers appeared to get away with a blatant attempt to injure Leafs star William Nylander during Game 4 by opening the bench door just as Nylander was hit.

The Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers series has quickly become the most physical and heated matchup of Round 2. With big hits, questionable plays, and rising tensions, it's shaping into a full-blown 7-game ball of chaos.
While the Leafs came away with a disappointing 2-0 loss in Game 4, the biggest concern was a dangerous moment involving William Nylander, that went unnoticed.
In the midst of a puck battle near the boards, a Panthers player appeared to intentionally open the bench door at the moment that Nylander took a hard hit, nearly sending Nylander into the open door jam.
Dave McCarthy highlighted the play on X, calling it the dirtiest moment of the night:
"Of anything that happened in Game 4 from either side, this was by far and away the greasiest move.

Zero reason for the door to open here. Nobody changed.

Dangerous, dangerous play."
Nylander has been the Leafs' best player this postseason, consistently proving he's among the NHL's elite goal scorers.
Nylander currently leads the Maple Leafs with 6 goals and 15 points in 10 playoff games.
This wasn't the first questionable moment of the series. Earlier games have featured attempts to injure, with Panthers forward Sam Bennett previously seemingly attempting to injure Leafs goalie Joseph Woll.
Bennett also made comments after Game 4, suggesting the Panthers plan to "get back" at Max Domi for his hit on Aleksander Barkov late in Game 4, by indicating the series is about to get more intense.
With tensions boiling over, the series appears to be shifting from tough to borderline reckless. The Maple Leafs return home for Game 5 on Wednesday, which promises to be an emotional, high-intensity matchup as both teams continue to battle for a spot in the Eastern Conference Final.
