Berube's Post-Game Comments About Auston Matthews Raising Some Pulses in Toronto

Craig Berube has provided an update on Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews after he left the game following a dangerous hit from defenceman Nikita Zadorov.
The hit forced Laughton to exit what was only his second game back from injury, and, surprisingly, did not result in a suspension. The fact that Zadorov was not suspended would, again, prove costly for the Leafs.
For the second game in a row between the Bruins and Leafs, Zadorov injured a Leafs forward -- this time Auston Matthews.
Ahead of the start of the third period, the Leafs confirmed that the three-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner would not return, forcing the Leafs to play with 11 forwards.
Craig Berube Provides Update on Auston Matthews
Following the Leafs' third consecutive loss, Leafs coach Craig Berube provided an update on Matthews. He didn't have much information to provide, other than that it is a lower-body injury.
"We'll see tomorrow. Right now, it is lower-body. We will just see tomorrow how he is. I don't know exactly. I really can't give you guys a timeline or tell you how serious it is right now. I am not sure when he got hurt, to be honest with you."
Suspension For Zadorov This Time Around?
There were some that expected Zadorov to face supplemental discipline for his hit on Saturday, but nothing materialized, leaving him free to injure another Leafs player on Tuesday night.
I would be shocked If Zadorov doesn't hear from Player Safety this time around. He took out one of the league's superstars by hitting him in a vulnerable position and sending him head-first into the boards.
The league, historically speaking, has not liked these hits, so we should find out whether or not a hearing is in the cards on Wednesday.
