Training camp is over for another Leafs prospect

After the Leafs sent OHLer Ty Voit back to his junior club earlier this week, it appears as though camp is over for another young prospect. Unfortunately, the latest cut is due to an injury.

Sportsnet's Luke Fox has confirmed that 18-year-old Fraser Minten's training camp is over after suffering an unfortunate wrist injury. Minten was not going to make the Leafs out of training camp anyway and it was expected that he'd be sent back down to junior ahead of Kamploops' season opener this weekend. Now, it appears as though he'll start his 2022-23 campaign on the IR.

Minten, who just turned 18 on July 5th, was surprisingly one of the team's standouts at camp, earning praise from head coach Sheldon Keefe, captain John Tavares and resident sniper Auston Matthews, among others. It's safe to say that the Leafs likely nabbed another solid prospect in the second round (38th overall in this summer's draft).
