Sibling rivalry on the ice is always something that entertaining hockey fans can look forward to, and today, we'll see the first Tkachuk brother matchup when the Florida Panthers take on the Ottawa Senators at home.
We got our fair share of watching Matthew and Brady face off against each other during the 2020-21 NHL season with the temporary North Division and saw Brady be one of Matthew's biggest fans during Calgary's playoff run this year. But this will be the brothers' first game against each other after Matthew was traded to Florida by the Flames this past summer. And what better way to get ready for such a game than watching the brothers attempt to chirp one another?
It's safe to say Matthew won this round of chirping, being the typical older brother and calling Brady out for his annoying younger sibling ways. Brady makes a good point about being tough and taking the insults thrown at him by his brother, completely unbothered by them.
Chirping may be the full extent of what we get to see in terms of the Tkachuk's going at each other, as both have said they're not going to fight their brother, but that doesn't mean we don't get to see the odd mishap between the pair like this bit that happened back in January:
Being the middle child of two brothers, I can say that'd be my response if either of them knocked me to the ground too.
After today's game, Matthew and Brady won't play against each other again until March 27th in Ottawa, then again on April 6th in Florida.
