Last week, Leafs prospect Rodin Amirov was pictured and confirmed to be working out at team facilities in Toronto. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor in February, Amirov's timeline for returning to play has been unknown, but it seems like he's trying to have a presence and build relationships in the Leafs' locker room.
Despite not being able to play alongside the Buds or with the Marlies this season, Amirov, who hails from Russia, looks like he plans to spend some time with the team regardless. Something nice to see, given the young winger's health circumstances.
Seeing as health is always a priority, Amirov's efforts to get to know and be part of the team while going through chemotherapy are noticed, and I think it's safe to say we're all pleased to hear this type of update.
