Senators throw shade at Leafs on social media after pair of pre-season wins
The Ottawa Senators' have beaten the Leafs in consecutive pre-season games to start training camp with the latest being a 4-3 overtime win last night in Toronto. Today, the Sens' social media team took to Twitter, AKA "X" to celebrate the fact they beat the Leafs on back-to-back days. The team shared the now viral Kevin James photo shrugging his shoulders with the caption "Us after two Battle of Ontario wins in 2 days".
For a fanbase that is constantly attacking Leaf fans for making a big deal out of nothing or for things always being about the Leafs, taking pre-season victories this seriously and dunking on the Leafs, who were icing 50%-75% AHLers in back-to-back games is a new low. It's nice to see the social media team so confident in the Sens after a pair of pre-season wins because GM Pierre Dorion didn't sound as excited or optimistic during his training camp media availability when he said, "People are talking playoffs. I don't want to make bold predictions."
While the Sens have taken steps forward in the last couple of seasons, they have not made the playoffs since 2017. It's a very long season and this tweet should be bookmarked because it may age very poorly. If the Sens miss the playoffs once again, I'm sure they'll be reminded of this moment.
