Connor McDavid is basically a human highlight reel with what he can do with the puck. It seems like at least once a game, he's doing something that's worthy of being featured in just about every "plays of the night/week/month" compilation. Tonight is no different.
McDavid, playing in his 500th game tonight against the Washington Capitals, took matters into his own hands with his team down 2-0 in the 2nd period during 4-on-4 play. After receiving a pass just inside the Caps' blueline, McDavid turned on the Jets, dangled through the middle of the ice, beat the defenders and tucked it past an outstretched Charlie Lindgren.
This was McDavid's 13th goal of the season. With Auston Matthews' slow start, McDavid's looking like a pretty strong bet to win the Rocket Richard Trophy at the rate he's going.
