Matthew Tkachuk chirps Evander Kane about being broke during Calgary's 9-6 win in Game 1
Game 1 in the Battle or Alberta was an absolute barn burner in Calgary on Wednesday night, with the Flames taking a 1-0 series lead in their round 2 matchup with the Edmonton Oilers. Just how wild was it? Well, the final score was 9-6 in favour of the Flames.
At one point, the Oilers were down as many 4 goals, but they did manage to storm back scoring 4 of their own to draw even with the Flames at 6-6 in the third, though the Flames would retake the lead just over a minute and a half later and never relinquish it.
During the exciting Game 1 matchup, Oilers winger
Evander Kane and
Matthew Tkachuk exchanged some words, with Tkachuk trying to hit Kane where it hurts, mocking him over his bankruptcy.
This is going to be a crazy series. I have no horse in this race with the Leafs now eliminated, so I'll just sit back, completely non-partisan, and watch the fireworks.
