Leafs star forward absent from practice on Tuesday
William Nylander had another three-point game last night against St. Louis, notching 1 goal and 2 assists on Tuesday evening. It was the second multi-point game in a row for Nylander, who continues to be on pace to smash his career highs in goals and points, which he set last season.
Today at practice however, Nylander was not seen in his usual spot alongside Auston Matthews. Instead, Wayne Simmonds took his place. We will likely get an update on Nylander following practice, and given that he finished the game last night, it could very well just be a maintenance day to rest some nagging bumps and bruises.
It's something the Leafs have done more frequently with players like Nylander, Matthews and Matt Murray this season. Either way, I'm sure we won't have to wait long for an update.
