Leafs pull off late night blockbuster trade with St. Louis
After waiting for Kyle Dubas to do something for weeks, Leaf fans got their wish. The Leafs bolstered their forward group by adding Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Accari from St. Louis.
In exchange, the Leafs sent Mikhail Abramov, Adam Gaudette, their 2023 first round pick, Ottawa's third round pick in 2024 and the Leafs' second round pick in 2024. The Leafs also sent Minnesota a fifth round pick in 2025.
St. Louis is retaining 50% of O'Reilly's contract with Minnesota retaining another 25%. Not only did Dubas add toughness and some physicality to his lineup, but he did it without giving up Matthew Knies.
