Keefe's latest update on Auston Matthews raises questions about his availability for Saturday's game in Boston
Auston Matthews missed his second consecutive game last night with what the team is calling a "lingering injury." Following the Leafs' loss to the Wings in Detroit, Sheldon Keefe was asked about Matthews' status for Saturday's showdown with the Bruins.
Keefe mentioned that Matthews will yet again be a game-time decision, should he feel well enough to play. According to Keefe, aside from dealing with his injury, Matthews also woke up sick yesterday morning and the Leafs bench boss had revealed that he had not seen Matthews all day so he was not sure of where he was at in his recovery.
Hopefully the day off tomorrow will give Matthews the extra time he needs to get back to playing as the Leafs will need all hands on deck against the Bruins in Boston on Saturday. The Bruins have only 1 regulation loss at home all season.
