Nick Robertson has not played since December 8th and has not skated since either. The California native was injured during a game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, where Kings defenseman Matt Roy delivered a devastating hit on Leafs winger Nick Robertson that sent Robertson crashing hard into the end boards, favouring his right shoulder.

Initially, the Leafs said he would attempt to rehab the shoulder and be out 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately for Robertson though, the rehab wasn't working and was forced to have surgery in January. Robertson had the season-ending surgery on January 16th and following another 2 months of rehab, finally returned to the ice this morning for the first time since December.

Robertson's recovery time from the surgery is a minimum of six months, but the fact he is back on skates signifies that the shoulder is recovering well and he could be ahead of schedule and is expected to be ready for training camp in September. Hopefully this is the last of major injuries for Robertson for a while as he has had issues with his other shoulder, a broken leg, and lengthy illness, limiting him to just 82 games since he made his professional debut in the 2020-2021 season.
