The Chicago Blackhawks had a disastrous season by just about anyone's standards. After going out and acquiring Seth Jones and Marc-Andre Fleury last offseason, a lot of people, myself included, had expected the Blackhawks to be in the playoff picture this year. It just didn't happen that way and now the Hawks have some tough decisions to make this summer.
Seth Jones was a player who was highly coveted by Chicago this summer and when the were able to pull of a trade to get him, they immediately signed the Arlington, TX native to an 8-year $76 million deal. There were a few people who were skeptical about the deal for sure. One of them just happens to be his new head coach, Derek King.
Since that time, Jones has turned King into a believer. The Hawks head coach even thinks that Jones deserves a "big letter" next season. Did he inadvertently just reveal that Jonathan Toews will be moved this summer? Is Jones going to be the next captain in Chicago? We'll have some more clarity on that during the offseason.
