Brand Marchand raves about how talented the Leafs are in recent interview
After multiple displays of poor puck management against the Bruins Saturday night, the Leafs ultimately lost with just over a minute to go in a thrilling, playoff-like game. While almost everyone that is not a Bruins fan may not have an appreciation for Brad Marchand, he does occasionally say some nice things about other teams and their fans - in this case, the Leafs and Leafs Nation.
Prior to their matchup against the Leafs on Saturday, Marchand was asked about the Leafs and their fans. Marchand praised both the Leafs and Leafs Nation in a surprising display of admiration and respect, admitting that the Leafs are one of the most talented and best teams in the league and believes that the Leafs will make a deep playoff run because "they're just too talented" not to.
Marchand went on to say that Leaf fans are so passionate and it's been a tough go for them because they've had such a good team for so many years. He always enjoys playing the Leafs because "to be the best you have to beat the best", as he said, which is unfortunately what the Bruins did Saturday night.
Is anyone else surprised by Marchand's words of admiration for the Leafs and their loyal fanbase? Because I sure was.
