Blackhawks in the process of completing a major trade that will impact Atlantic Division
Chicago Blackhawks head coach Derek King is going to be one unhappy camper, as Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli is reporting that the Hawks are in the process of trading forward Brandon Hagel - one of the coach's favourites.
Hagel, 23, is enjoying a breakout season with the Blackhawks, amassing 21 goals and 37 points through 55 games this season. Hagel plays a physical game and is not afraid to get his hands dirty - which will be an asset in the playoffs.
The Blackhawks are embarking on a major retooling this offseason, so it makes sense for them to move pieces that will bring back assets such as draft capital and prospects to begin refilling the cupboards.
While the return is not yet known, multiple sources are beginning to confirm Tampa is Hagel's destination. This one has the potential to haunt Leafs fans, as Hagel was a player who the Buds could have used for multiple seasons.
