A Leafs fan brings a unique item for Joseph Woll to sign during a signing this weekend

Woll's last 5 games have been especially tough, with losses to Ottawa, Buffalo and Los Angeles, but he has won two of his last 3, with wins over Tampa and Calgary on November 6th and 10th. With his struggles over the last 5 games, it's easy to forget how strong he began the season, being listed as the NHL's top goalie by MoneyPuck a couple of weeks back. His save percentages over his first 4 games were .900, 1.00, .974 and .969.

His teammates affectionately refer to him as "The Brick Woll", even though his name is actually pronounced [wōhl]. Nevertheless, I'm sure he was surprised at a recent signing at an Ultra Pro Sport Card and Memorabilia Expo in Toronto this weekend when someone actually brought a literal brick in for him to autograph.

The Leafs are out of action from Sunday to Thursday as they prepare for travel to Sweden for the upcoming Global Series later this week. They'll take on the Detroit Red Wings on Friday and the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. Woll figures to get into one of these two games, but Sheldon Keefe has not yet announced how the starts will be split between he and the suddenly rising Ilya Samsonov, who has put up a .939 SV% or better in 2 of his last 3 starts.
