Max Domi downplayed his individual success following his two-goal game on Tuesday night with a powerful post-game message, showing the Leafs' belief in each other.

Struggling through the first 9 games of the season, Max Domi seemed to turn things around on Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames.
His two-goal performance, which included the game-winning goal in the final few minutes of the game, was something fans of the Leafs, and head coach Craig Berube, had been waiting for.

Craig Berube Thrilled With the Progress in Max Domi's Game

As hard as Berube has been on Domi publicly, he has been rather impressed with the former first-round pick's past few games.
"He has been good. For me, Max has been a different player in the last three games. He is more engaged, and when he is an engaged player, he is a good player. He was getting a lot of opportunities at the net. He was competitive on the puck. He was skating with the puck."

The long-standing message from the Leafs' bench boss of wanting Domi to shoot more is finally starting to pay off as Domi has registered 9 shots over the last 3 games, compared to just 6 over the previous five.

Max Domi Downplays Individual Performance

Despite being awarded the player-of-the-game belt by his teammates, Domi downplayed his two-goal effort, explaining that they expect someone different to step up every night to help the team win.
"We won today, so nothing else matters. You're not going to get much in terms of the individual stuff. That stuff is so irrelevant. It's a long season, and we need everyone. So every night there is going to be someone that steps up, gets some bounces here and there, but we're a group that relies on every single guy in this room."
With two goals on Tuesday, Domi and the Leafs are hopeful that his scoring touch will carry over into Wednesday's visit to Columbus when they take on the Blue Jackets in the second half of their back-to-back before having a few days off ahead of Saturday's game in Philadelphia.
